Mission Statement: To significantly and consistently beat general market returns. This is done by taking advantage of up and down movements in the markets. Risk of capital is minimized by use of index funds and frequency of trading is limited.

Strategy: While no one can predict the market, we take advantage of changes in the market using a robust investment system which utilizes proven tools and indicators. We apply the system to market and commodity index Exchange Traded Funds to minimize capital risk while utilizing ‘beta-tools’ (such as ProShares and/or Rydex funds) to maximize profit.
Throughout the years, people have utilized many forms of investing – from the “do your due diligence then buy and hold” philosophy, to small-cap swing-trading, to day-trading. Some things worked – but too often many things didn’t. The team at PST has worked diligently to develop tools which keep us on the right side of the market the majority of the time while minimizing the need for frequent trading. In addition, our system utilizes market indices to eliminate the possibility of large, unforeseen changes which often happen with individual companies. Throughout the past years, we at PST have developed and implemented a tested, proven and consistently profitable trading system.

Since implementation in 2007, the annual returns have been both consistent and impressive – exceeding 25% annually. Extensive back-testing continues in order to ensure the robustness of the tools and procedures used to identify market opportunities.
The system utilizes the S&P500 index for its signals and we are evaluating usage of the NASDAQ index – the Dow Jones Industrial Average is not used since it closely mirrors the S&P500 data. Use of ProShares ETF’s or Rydex funds is recommended for either of these two indices in order to achieve a 2X multiplier effect without use of margin. I do not recommend the use of margin! Also, ProShares and Rydex funds offer the ability to take advantage of both bull and bear markets and are usable within IRA accounts. ProShares are ETF’s which trade like ordinary stocks, while Rydex funds generally trade only at the day’s end based on the closing price. Our personal favorite is ProShares since they are bought and sold like stocks and can utilize profit-stops if desired.

The products we offer include the convenience of infrequent yet profitable trades (the S&P product is averaging 5-6 trades per year) and minimize your time-exposure in the market. Recommendations are made after market close in order to allow you time to analyze our recommendation and determine your “comfort level” with it. Information for our members is provided through our website and e-mail notifications.
In addition, since our index-based ETF trades have required us to be in the market <30% of the time since 2007, many of our clients have expressed a desire for additional information which would allow them to make profitable short-term trades while not in an index-based position. We recently introduced a service to make special short-term trading recommendations for individual companies and now provide this service to you at no additional cost. Due to the added uncertainties inherent with trading stocks of individual companies, however, we recommend that smaller positions be taken in those trades (versus the index-based trades) to minimize risk to your capital. There are links on our homepage which allow you to view our trade history of index-based ETF’s as well as individual company stocks.
