Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly do I get for my money?

Through our research and analysis techniques, we identify stocks or ETF’s for you to consider as part of your trading activity. We provide this information daily (or as often as it changes) through our website and through automatic e-mail notification to your e-mail address on file with us.

What if I can’t be by my computer all day to access alerts from PST?

Not a problem. Although a few notifications may be sent during the trading day, the vast majority of them are sent after market close. This gives us a chance to analyze the day’s market activities and gives you the chance to consider our recommendations in the evening as you make your trading decisions for the next day. Unless we recommend a particular profit-stop be set for a trade, all trade calculations are based on the opening value of the stock/ETF on the morning following our trade alert.

What is a profit-stop?

A profit-stop is a recommendation that a trade be made (buy or sell) if a stock/ETF reaches a certain price. If we recommend that a profit-stop be used, we will communicate that information similar to all other trade information.

Can I trade with PST or do I have to go through my broker?

Precision Stock Traders provides information and suggestions for you to consider in your trading, but you will need an account with a broker (ie; Schwab, Scottrade, ETRADE, etc.) to make the trades.

What types of stocks are traded?

PST specializes in information based on the S&P 500 index, gold ETFs, and individual stocks. Although all trading decisions are up to each individual trader, we suggest that more emphasis be placed on index-based and gold ETF trades since those are inherently less risky than investments in individual companies.

Why should I subscribe to Precision Stock Traders?

Although we cannot (and don’t even try) to predict markets, we believe that our proven track record and conservative approach to risk management serves many investors and traders very well. PST does not recommend penny stocks and this is not a get-rich-quick scheme. We believe the diligent application of our tools and techniques to broadly-traded companies and index ETF’s will continue to produce excellent, consistent results.

What is PST’s overall trading philosophy?

Throughout the past 15 years, our team has developed and refined the use of market-proven tools and techniques. We apply those tools to the S&P index, certain commodities (like gold), and most recently to individual company stocks. Our goal is to achieve profits which significantly beat the market, while also minimizing portfolio risk.

In order to minimize your trading risk (with us or anyone else), we suggest that you start with small index-based trades in order to achieve confidence in our system and profits in your account. After accruing some profits, you may choose to increase the value of your index-based trades and/or to trade using our trade alerts for stocks of individual companies. Remember, it’s your money – it’s our goal to help you keep it and to help you make it grow.

Is PST only for experienced traders?

No. PST provides clear entry and exit points for the ETF’s and stocks which we suggest. It is up to each trader to make their own trading decisions, but our information is provided in a timely manner which allows you time to consider and implement each trade.

How do I change or retrieve my password if I forgot it?

Simply contact our customer service people via phone or e-mail for prompt resolution of the problem.

Will I be flooded with junk e-mails once I provide my e-mail address?

No, we won’t sell or share your information with anyone. We don’t like spam and junk mail either.

How often do you make trading recommendations?

As you can see on our Index Performance page, trades based on the S&P index have been made 5-6 times per year on average. Also, you may notice that we are in the market only a small percentage of the time. Our tools help us to pick the most opportune times to be in the market to achieve profits. Recently – for individuals which like to trade more often -- we have included an additional service which provides more frequent alerts regarding individual companies.

Is there a difference in the services provided in a 30-day versus a longer subscription?

No, not at all. The longer subscription term simply provides a discount for those who have used and gained confidence in our service.
